Mobile broadband is the trendiest discovery in the Web that is increasingly looking like it holds the key to the development of fast speed connection. Mobile high speed connection works by using a small modem to a pc, generally referred to as a ‘dongle’, from where a PC is then able to work with the mobile broadband package the customers have signed up for. Companies are marketing mobile broadband offers and coverage of the networks, also called 3 G networks, which is reported to be 90% of Great Britain.

Speed is an important issue for any high speed connection connection and mobile high speed internet companies at first had some problems to persuade potential mobile users that any mobile high speed connection could be as fast as conventional, landline-based high speed broadband. Connection speeds are getting better, however, with Vodafone reporting mobile high speed internet lines of up to nearly 8 mb, which is similar to most of the fastest landline broad-band. In New Zealand a famous telecommunications provider has reported that mobile broad-band networks will soon increase rapidly over the coming years and they have announced that mobile high speed connection will deliver speeds of up to 100mb by early 2011, the exact year the GB’s fibre optic network is to be completed. This could herald a major step in industry thinking, with the creation of a reliable super fast mobile broadband connection network with remarkable advantages over the installation of thousands of kilometres of fibre optic cables, without mentioning the practical point of view.
